World Cancer Day

A diverse group, including patients, advocates, association members, and cancer care enthusiasts, gathered at Mehdia Seashore, near Kenitra, Morocco. NABD-BC2 Association thoughtfully organized the event, with “NABD” meaning “pulse” and “beat” in Arabic, symbolizing life after a cancer diagnosis. “BC2” stands for “Best Care for Breast Cancer.”

The heartwarming activity began at 11:00 a.m., lasting for two hours, welcoming participants of all ages. The youngest, Joudia, at just 30 months old, enjoyed the walking and games. A moment was dedicated to honoring the memory of cancer patients who passed away, like Raja, whose photo featured on the event poster with her husband’s permission.

The event focused on supporting cancer patients, raising awareness about their rights, and advocating for equitable access to global cancer care efforts. Participants walked together, played games, wrote messages in the sand, and shared personal cancer experiences. This gathering conveyed the message that a cancer diagnosis isn’t a death sentence; equitable access to treatments brings hope and reaffirms that life goes on, even in the face of cancer.
