OncoThon 2026: Global Voices in Cancer Care
February 4 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
NABD-BC2 Association is delighted to share the participation of its President, Mrs. Ikram Eseghir, at OncoThon 2026 | Global Voices in Cancer Care, organized by OncoDaily in collaboration with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
Invited as a speaker and patient advocate, Mrs. Eseghir contributed to enriching discussions alongside global stakeholders, bringing forward the perspective of a Person with Lived Experience (PWLE) and highlighting the critical importance of equitable, people-centered cancer care.
During her intervention, she emphasized two key messages:
Ensuring equitable access to holistic, patient-centered cancer care, including innovative therapies, must remain a collective priority for the global cancer community.
Meaningful engagement of people with lived experience is essential to improving cancer care. Moving beyond tokenism toward inclusive and participatory approaches enables genuine co-creation, co-development, and co-implementation of effective, context-specific interventions.
Mrs. Eseghir also showcased the Moroccan experience as an evolving model of collaborative action and patient engagement, highlighting initiatives such as the DUPPC Diploma for capacity building of PWLE, the Ministry of Health workshop on Meaningful Engagement in collaboration with WHO, and the impactful work led by NGOs and lived-experience champions across the country.
NABD-BC2 extends its sincere appreciation to OncoDaily and UICC for the opportunity to contribute to this important global dialogue and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening equitable cancer care through advocacy, partnership, and meaningful patient engagement.
