Awareness Scientific Day: Breast Cancer from Screening to Treatment – Towards a Holistic Approach
As part of Pink October activities, NABD-BC2 Association organized a scientific and awareness-raising day under the theme: “Breast Cancer from Screening to Treatment – Towards a Holistic Approach.” The event took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Ait El Cadi Parapharmacy Center in Ouled Oujih – Kenitra, bringing together specialists, patients, and interested participants in an atmosphere full of hope and engagement.
The day opened with a speech from the association’s president, Mrs. Ikram Eseghir, who warmly welcomed all attendees and shared two important announcements. First, she announced that the association had regained its headquarters, where workshops and regular activities for raising awareness and providing psychological support to patients will soon resume. Second, she revealed that NABD-BC2 Association had officially joined the steering committee for building a coalition of patient organizations in Morocco, a move aimed at enhancing collaboration and coordination among associations.
The scientific program included three comprehensive presentations by leading specialists, each addressing holistic cancer care from different perspectives:
- Dr. Sara Daoudi, Oncologist, presented a thorough overview of the importance of early detection in improving recovery rates, detailing the causes, symptoms, treatments, and preventive measures of the disease.
- Dr. Mariam El Bardai, Nutritionist, discussed the most suitable diet for cancer patients, highlighting the importance of proper nutrition during and after treatment.
- Dr. Asmae Ait El Cadi, Pharmacist and Skincare Expert, focused on skin care during and after treatment, emphasizing continuous moisturizing and the use of sunscreen to maintain skin health following radiotherapy.
The event also included a presentation by a representative from SVR Morocco, who provided practical advice on selecting products suitable for different skin types and treatment stages.
After the scientific sessions, attendees enjoyed a friendly coffee break, which offered an opportunity for networking and exchanging experiences. The day concluded with a group photo capturing the association’s board members, coordinators, and participants in a spirit of hope and solidarity.
NABD-BC2 Association sincerely thanks Novartis and SVR Morocco for their generous support, Ms. Asmae Ait El Cadi for her gracious hosting and active role in making this initiative a success, and all the participants, doctors, volunteers, and coordinators whose efforts helped make this event a memorable milestone in raising awareness and providing support for patients.
