Breast Cancer Awareness Day

As part of its annual activities for Pink October, NABD-BC2 Association organized an awareness day on October 25 to raise public understanding of breast cancer, aiming to promote early detection and encourage prevention of this disease, which remains one of the most common cancers among women. 

The event began with a welcome speech by Ms. Nezha Raoui, Vice President of the association, who warmly greeted the attendees and provided a brief introduction to the association and its rich history of dedication, highlighting its key achievements and initiatives aimed at amplifying patients’ voices and advocating for their health and social rights. 

Following this, Dr. Rajaa Najib, a specialist in oncology and a doctor at the Reference Center for Reproductive Health and Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer, delivered a comprehensive scientific presentation covering the nature of cancer, the populations most at risk, methods for early detection, and the main contributing factors. She also highlighted treatment approaches tailored to each case, emphasizing that prevention and early detection are fundamental pillars for achieving high recovery rates and accelerating the healing process. 

In a second presentation, Dr. Tarik El Messaoudi, a breast cancer surgeon, addressed surgery and reconstruction after mastectomy, providing a detailed, illustrated overview of modern techniques used in breast reconstruction and cosmetic restorative procedures, stressing their importance in helping women regain self-confidence after treatment. 

Ms. Ikram Eseghir, President of the association, delivered a closing speech, praising the efforts of collaborators, sponsors and benefactors who contribute to funding the association’s activities and enabling it to provide social and humanitarian services. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts to support patients and improve their quality of life. 

At the conclusion of the awareness day, certificates of appreciation were presented to Dr. Tariq El Messaoudi and Dr. Rajaa Najib in recognition of their valuable participation and contributions to the event’s success. Additionally, a symbolic gift was presented to Dr. Asmae Ait El Cadi in appreciation of her ongoing support for the association, particularly for hosting its activities.
