Empowering Moroccan Civil Society: Highlights from Personalized Cancer Care Alliance Position Paper 2.0 Workshop

November 18, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

NABD-BC2 Association was proudly represented by its Advocacy Strategy Lead, Ms. Hajar Gdader, at the Personalised Cancer Care Alliance Position Paper 2.0 Workshop, held on 18 November 2025 in Manila, Philippines.

Morocco’s participation was further strengthened by the presence of two key patient organisations: Amal Association, represented by Ms. El Khoudari, and Cancer… We’re All Concerned Association, represented by its Administrative and Financial Director, Mr. Mohamed Belkadi. Together, they reflected the strong and united voice of Moroccan civil society in advancing personalised cancer care.

The workshop was led by Dr. Sawsan Almadhi, whose leadership, expertise, and vision guided discussions on how to translate the Position Paper 2.0 into practical strategies for national and regional impact.

During the launch of Morocco’s chapter, Ms. Hajar Gdader delivered a presentation highlighting Moroccan patient organisations’ achievements as the first country-level pilot of the Personalised Cancer Care Alliance, showcasing how they turned the 5Ps framework into tangible actions, improving early detection, psychosocial support, survivor-led advocacy, and digital tools for patient coordination and access to care.

Ms. Gdader also presented the outcomes of the national capacity-building workshop held in Marrakech in January 2024, hosted by IAPO in coordination with Amal Association.

NABD-BC2 also announced the launch of πŒπ¨π«π¨πœπœπ¨β€™π¬ 𝐟𝐒𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐒𝐠𝐒𝐭𝐚π₯ 𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐒𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬, a pioneering initiative designed to improve visibility, collaboration, and national coordination. This milestone complements the inspiring work of numerous Moroccan associations, each playing a vital role in advancing equitable, person-centred cancer care across the country.

The Manila workshop united patient organisations, healthcare professionals, and partners to advance cancer advocacy, develop accountability tools, and align civil society efforts with IAPO’s regional approach. For Morocco, it reaffirmed its pilot-country success and strengthened NABD-BC2’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Health, WHO EMRO, and international stakeholders.

We extend our sincere appreciation to IAPO and PCCA teams for their trust and support. We proudly acknowledge the commitment of Moroccan patient organisations whose resilience, leadership, and dedication continue to move us closer to dignified, equitable, and truly patient-centred cancer care in Morocco and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the PCCA Position Paper 2.0 Workshop.
