Coordination Meeting of Moroccan Cancer Patient Organizations

Following the outcomes of the communication days organized by the association “Cancer… We Are All Concerned” on January 11–12, 2025, a coordination meeting of Moroccan Cancer Patient Organizations was held on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The meeting brought together representatives from associations across the country.
The event opened with a speech by Ms. Bahija Gouimi, President of Amal Association for Leukemia Patients – Marrakech. She welcomed the initiative, praised the organizers, and emphasized the importance of networking and coordination among associations to enhance and expand support services for cancer patients.
The organizing association presented a detailed proposal for establishing a national alliance. Mr. Mohamed Belkadi, Financial and Administrative Director of “Cancer… We Are All Concerned”, outlined the background and rationale for the alliance, its vision and mission, strategic objectives, proposed structure, areas of focus, implementation timeline, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, concluding with final recommendations.
NABD-BC2 Association highlighted the importance of involving people with lived experience in civil society initiatives and amplifying their voices to ensure their representation in national programs. The association also introduced its innovative project, “The Digital Map of Cancer Associations in Morocco”, which will soon be developed into a comprehensive digital platform, with a planned launch in 2026. NABD-BC2 called for strengthened collaboration between associations to ensure the success of the national network.
The meeting also established a preparatory committee for the founding assembly of the national network and concluded with a shared commitment among all participating associations to unify their efforts and provide comprehensive, sustainable support for cancer patients.
