Moroccan Alliance of Cancer Patient Associations
February 14
On Saturday, 14 February 2026, the Founding General Assembly of the Moroccan Alliance of Cancer Patient Associations was held in Casablanca, marking an important milestone in strengthening national coordination among civil society organizations supporting people living with cancer.
The creation of this Alliance followed an inclusive and participatory process grounded in governance, consultation, and institutional responsibility. The initiative builds on a cumulative trajectory of dialogue and coordination, including the consultative meeting held in Tetouan in January 2025, organized by “Cancer… We’re All Concerned” Association, which laid the foundation for this national framework.
During the General Assembly, members approved the Alliance’s statutes and internal regulations, adopted its organizational structure, and elected the Executive Bureau. This institutional framework aims to enhance synergy, strengthen collective impact, and promote transparency, integrity, and effectiveness in initiatives dedicated to supporting cancer patients and survivors across Morocco.
The Alliance is presided over by Mrs. Latifa Cherif, who was elected President of the Executive Bureau.
We are proud to announce that Mrs. Ikram Eseghir, President of NABD-BC2 Association, has been elected Vice President of the Moroccan Alliance of Cancer Patient Associations
Her appointment reflects NABD-BC2’s sustained commitment to:
- Advancing meaningful patient engagement
- Strengthening coordinated advocacy efforts
- Promoting equity in access to cancer care
- Contributing to national efforts that improve pathways of care and survivorship support
The Alliance has also established a permanent Governance, Arbitration, and Ethics Committee and has opened its membership to legally recognized associations working to protect the dignity and rights of cancer patients, reinforcing a shared vision of collaboration and collective responsibility.
NABD-BC2 remains fully committed to contributing actively to this new national platform, amplifying the voice of patients and people with lived experience, and engaging responsibly in sectoral efforts to improve prevention, treatment, supportive care, and survivorship outcomes.
Together, through structured collaboration and principled governance, we move closer to a more coordinated, patient-centered cancer response in Morocco.
