Workshop on Psychological Support for Cancer Patients
NABD-BC2 Association organized a training day on psychological support for cancer patients, conducted by Dr. Najib Amine, an oncologist and specialist in psycho-oncology, communication, and neurosciences. More than 24 patients, mostly breast cancer patients, attended. Some were accompanied by family members, who also actively participated in the workshop. The training included both theoretical information and practical workshops on how to manage cancer-related stress, whether upon diagnosis and announcement or during and after treatment. Attendees had ample room for interaction and collaboration, allowing them to express their emotions and concerns freely. Dr. Amine, who has been engaged in social activism in Canada and Morocco for more than 15 years, created a comfortable, reassuring, and empathetic atmosphere, encouraging all attendees to participate in the discussions and share their concerns and experiences. Messages of hope and optimism circulated throughout the session. One of these came from Dr. Mahmoud Rifaat, PhD in Genetic Analysis from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, U.S.A., and is an Emeritus Professor of Genetics at Suez Canal University, Egypt. He highlighted the promising advances in research and science in the field of cancer.
We extend our gratitude to Dr. Amine and all the participants for their valuable contributions to strengthening the support system for individuals dealing with cancer.
