NABD-BC2 at the 9th International Congress CMF–AGOPR

June 19 @ 9:00 am - June 21 @ 5:00 pm

From 19 to 21 June 2025, the Fairmont Hotel at La Marina Rabat–Salé became the meeting point for some of the most brilliant minds and passionate advocates in women’s and reproductive health. Under the theme « Avancées en Santé Féminine et Reproductive », the 9ᵉ Congrès International, co-organized by the Collège Marocain de Fertilité (CMF) and the Association des Gynécologues Obstétriciens Privés de Rabat (AGOPR), brought together experts, researchers, clinicians, and voices of lived experience.

Among the invited guests was NABD-BC2, represented by a delegation composed of its President, Mrs. Ikram Eseghir, the Vice-Treasurer, Mrs. Rajae Essouabny, and a new member, Mrs. Fatima Ezzohra Mchirah, who delivered a presentation sharing the perspective of a person with lived experience (PWLE). The invitation came from Dr. Nozha Saadi, President of AGOPR, who recognized the importance of including patient perspectives alongside the scientific discussions. For three days, the congress unfolded across multiple rooms, each alive with knowledge exchange, from advanced reproductive technologies and genetic testing to surgical innovations, maternal health strategies, and discussions on the impact of menopause, endometriosis, and gynecological cancers.

Mrs Mchirah’s contribution brought a different kind of expertise to the table, one born from personal experience. Standing before an audience of healthcare professionals, she shared her journey as a person with lived experience of cancer (PWLE). She spoke about the emotional and physical challenges, the moments of doubt, and the resilience that followed. More importantly, she explained how she transformed her experience into something that could serve others, writing a book that not only tells her story but also offers hope, solidarity, and practical encouragement to those walking a similar path. Her words reminded everyone that behind every medical case lies a human being whose voice matters.

Throughout the congress, sessions dedicated to breast cancer resonated deeply with NABD-BC2’s mission, especially those on fertility preservation after cancer, psychosocial support, and integrating patient testimony into care strategies. Scientific presentations explored how genetic testing can guide prevention, how new technologies improve diagnosis, and how multidisciplinary approaches can enhance outcomes. Yet in between the data and technical discussions, there was space for compassion, empathy, and the lived realities of patients.

NABD-BC2 Association expresses heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nozha Saadi, President of AGOPR, for the invitation and for ensuring that the patient’s voice was not only heard but valued. The congress was more than an academic gathering, it was a reminder that the future of women’s and reproductive health depends on innovation, collaboration, and the stories that connect us all.
