Meeting of the Temporary Fact-Finding Mission on Oncology Institutes with Civil Society Representatives

May 20

We’re delighted to share that NABD-BC2 Association had the honor of participating in the meeting held with civil society stakeholders on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Moroccan Parliament, as part of the temporary fact-finding mission on Oncology Institutes. Our participation came following a kind invitation from Mrs. Latifa Chérif, Member of Parliament and Chair of the mission, alongside AMAL Association.

This meeting provided an important platform to amplify patients’ voices and shed light on the daily challenges they face throughout their treatment journey and access to care. During the discussions, NABD-BC2 presented a series of recommendations aimed at ensuring equitable and timely access to treatment, including innovative therapies and specialized diagnostic tests, particularly genetic testing, without interruption.

The recommendations also highlighted the need to expand health coverage to include diagnostic procedures as well as supportive and palliative care, strengthen early detection and prevention strategies, improve psychological and social support services, and foster better communication between healthcare professionals and patients in order to enhance treatment adherence while preserving patients’ dignity.

In addition, NABD-BC2 emphasized the importance of advancing scientific research and encouraging studies focused on treatment pathways and patients’ quality of life, while also addressing the social and cultural challenges surrounding cancer and combating stigma and misconceptions within society.

We further stressed the importance of supporting civil society organizations and empowering PWLE through their integration into the healthcare system, while promoting a collaborative and multisectoral approach to improving cancer care in Morocco.

On this occasion, we extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Latifa Chérif for the trust she placed in NABD-BC2 Association and for including us among the civil society organizations invited to contribute to this important institutional dialogue.

We remain fully committed to supporting all meaningful initiatives aimed at improving patients’ access to dignified treatment and quality care.

Together, we can build a more compassionate, inclusive, and equitable healthcare system for every cancer patient in Morocco!
