The Digital Mapping of Cancer Patient Organizations, conceived, developed, and implemented by NABD-BC2, aims to identify and map CPOs across Morocco, creating a valuable resource for patients, HCPs, institutions, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders. By enhancing visibility, networking, and collaboration, it strengthens patient-centered care and meaningful engagement.
The workshop opened with remarks by Dr. Loubna Abousselham from the MoH, who reaffirmed the Ministryβs commitment to institutionalizing meaningful engagement and highlighted the role of the Digital Mapping initiative in strengthening collaboration among stakeholders. This was followed by Dr. Awatef Belakhel, representing the WHO Country Office, who emphasized Moroccoβs pioneering role within the EMR and the importance of empowering patient organizations as key partners in strengthening health systems.
Following the opening remarks, Mrs. Eseghir presented the initiativeβs vision, rationale, methodology, findings, and strategic recommendations, while Ms. Irja delivered a demonstration of the platform, showcasing its functionalities and practical applications. Her presentation translated complex technical concepts into accessible, and engaging information, earning high appreciation from the audience.
The workshop concluded with an interactive validation session during which participating organizations shared valuable feedback and recommendations ahead of the platformβs official deployment.
We sincerely thank all the associations invited by the MoH for their active participation and valuable contributions throughout the validation process.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the MoH, particularly the Directorate of Epidemiology and Disease Control, and to the WHO Country Office for their trust, and commitment to advancing meaningful engagement. Their joint efforts continue to position Morocco as a regional leader in promoting the meaningful engagement of PWLE across the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region.
We are proud that the NABD-BC2 Digital Mapping of Cancer Patient Organizations could contribute to this important national initiative, and we look forward to its continued development in collaboration with all stakeholders.
